What are you grateful for *right now?*

As in, this very moment & second.

For me, it would be the fact that I slept good last night and can feel the benefits towards my body.

Anyway, I thought this would be a fun exercise to identify what we are thankful for in this very moment.

What are you all thankful for right now in the present moment?

I am grateful for all things great and small! Such an abundance of grafefullness that it would take a lifetime to list!

Right now I'm grateful that my long-term partner who is away from work was able to safely get some time off to come home for my birthday!

@MusicalBug

Happy late birthday!!

It's always extra meaningful to me when friends/loved ones choose to take time out of their lives to spend time with me on my birthday. :)

As I get older, my birthday honestly started to mean less and less to me, but then I found a circle of people friends and adopted family who wanted to spend it with me. Then all of the sudden my perspective changed, and I started to develop a new view and gratitude for my birthday.

@jaydaluv

While I haven't had kids yet, I can see through my sister's kids that there is so much joy and gratitude that comes with being a parent. And when you add on top of that a strong family connection, I feel like the gratitude can only increase. :)

Having a solid support system of people in our lives that validate our self-worth is so important. I know from personal experience what it's like to go from lacking that to having it, and the result is truly life-changing. :)

I am grateful for my sister. She is always caring and willing to listen to me. She does everything she can to lift me up since she knows I'm depressed.

I also love my mother who goes above and beyond to take care of me and show me love.

@OkiMokie

I am so happy and grateful for you that you have this type of support system with your depression. I can only imagine that it makes the condition somewhat easier to bear. I know when I had my past battles with depression, I didn't have much in the way of support; I think it would have been somewhat easier for me to climb out of the hole (not to mention quicker) had someone been there.

The point is though (and I don't mean this to be pedantic), I know that you'll be successful in your battle with depression. :)

I also know what it's like to have a helpful teacher. In particular, my English 3 teacher, Mr. Zihuatanejo, was a tremendous mentor and father-figure for me. Especially at a time in my life when I was short on role models.

For me it's the fact that I hit the jackpot with the new friends I have made after moving. They're amazing, and they're already family to me

@DoctorSalt

I know exactly what you mean and exactly what this feels like. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to give a thank you card in-person to the people who have been surrogate family to me for the last 7 years. Because without them, I really would not have known what family was supposed to feel like. I'm so happy for you and the support system you've managed to cultivate. :)

@DLynn88911221

It may seem silly to be able to go on and on with gratitude, but as you probably know for yourself, your type of attitude is so healthy and is conducive towards health and happiness. So much of what we can control in this life is based on how we react to the events in our lives, and in my experience, gratitude helps so much with that. Congratulations to you; you've got a great outlook on life. :)

@sereneSunset26 right now, I'm thankful I have a box of cereal next to me and I'm eating it dry in bed. I didn't even have to get up for breakfast and I was getting hungry. So I was glad I could reach over and grab the box and share some with my dogs

@sky1263

I have also eaten cereal dry out of the box, mainly Captain Crunch. Which of course, always destroys the roof of my mouth, lol.

But yeah, there's certainly something to be said for modern conveniences with food. What cereal did you share with the dogs?

Haha, that's awesome!! Sometimes it feels great to have silly things like this in common. One of my best friends is a dentist, and despite knowing the consequences for his mouth (and teeth), he is also an aficionado of Captain Crunch, lol.
