Step # 300 (Don't worry, I won't Sparta-kick anyone....maybe.)
I learned that I shouldn't allow myself to feel apathetic and depressed. If I want to get better, I need to look for ways to be happy and to appreciate things more.
@RedPandaExpress88
I love the Sparta reference. :p
Both are needed of course, the ability to give ourselves a break sometimes, and also the ability to push ourselves to do things we don't want to do but are good for us. If the time's come to push yourself, actively find ways to combat your depression, go for it. <3 We've got your back. :)
@guidingMusic
Thank you.
I'm learning to let myself not be perfect
@Mcgonagirl
I wish you the best with that. <3 It can be hard to do, even when there's never anyone who can be perfect. But really, it is okay to not always be perfect, to even fall beneath expectations some times when you've done what you can.
Step 50! Didn't think I'd make it this far, lol. I'm learning I CAN do this. I can keep going. Sometimes it will be hard, but I can do it.
@creativeCamp2095
Woot, step 50! :D Keep chugging along, you've already shown that you Can do this, just by making the progress you have, struggles and all, to be here at your present moment. ;)
Im at level 100!
@BorderlineRecovery
Nice! Congrats on reaching step 100. :) Keep up the good work, and best wishes for you. <3
I have learned that love does come back.
@LainaghStory
I'm really happy to hear that this has happened for you. <3
I have learned society has lied and it's okay for men to cry
@unrelentingcaliginosity
*hugs* Yes, men can cry. We're all humans with feelings which need to be released sometimes.
@guidingMusic
Thank you for supporting me, it means so much more than you know
i learned that it's okay to free myself of people that are bad for me, that i'm not here to please them
@jocchis
I'm proud of you for taking this huge step of not putting others before you at the expense of yourself. Not everyone can be pleased, nor is it your duty to do so. Take care. *hugs*
@jocchis - You are absolutely right!
I'm learning that no longer how much better I feel for how long, I can't ignore what I need to do to stay on top of depression. Remain diligent, Bridget Aisleen, remain diligent!
@BridgetAileen
Remain diligent, do what you need to to not fall back into depression. :) We've got your back at 7 Cups.
@guidingMusic Yes, indeed. This is exactly where I came to get all "fixed up".
I love 7 Cups. I've been here not quite 2 months and can't imagine my life without it. How did I ever manage??? Ummm...well, I didn't. LOL!
@BridgetAileen
Haha, well I'm glad you've found 7 Cups to be so helpful. :) You'll always be welcome here as long as needed. *hugs*
To find things I'm thankful for around me
Its been a while since I had a chance sit and reflect on my mistakes actions and short comings as a person a husband and a dad. I feel like there are several times where I am still not good enough, having my faults and misdeeds being told to me and constantly being said even without mentioning me. I feel pathetic all the time even though i try hard and want to fix myself i still feel like i am on an impossible journey. I keep going despite how much i hate my actions from the past and how much i want to give up because I have more motivating me than dragging me down. I am better than my sins and failures I am more than just a screw up. I am a dad a husband and a working man I will be whole again some day and once I am I will be a listener to anyone on here who needs it. If you need someone who feels like you or just want to hear a funny joke I am here.
@angrymunky86
Thank you for offering to be here. And I hope that you will find the peace to be stable and decide what you need to forgive yourself for and what you need to change.
