Hi Everyone, I'm on step 270 now. I have been able to put mindfulness training to good use recently. I work twelve hour overnight shifts alone, and our computer systems went down. I was uable to complete the reports for the next day's production. Instead of going to pieces, I was able to focus and think clearly and as soon as everthing was operational I was able to complete almost all my assigned tasks before there was any significant impact.
@alonesomeryder Wow what a great result! You used your mindfulness in the "real world" - mad skills! I hope I am as clear-headed as you are when I get to step 279.
To stop listening to what others tell me.
@Jules3lise
If that's what's the best for you, then tune them out. Some, but not everything others tell us is actually true. Take care. <3
That I have many things to be grateful for
@Sadsteve Thank you for reinforcing the importance of gratitude. I agree with you. My gratitude journal is really helping my state of mind - as I hope yours is too. Sometimes I'm surprised at the things I take for granted - feeling thankful for them makes me feel a bit better when I'm down.
@GlenM I've learned that I can do well in this healing process when I respect myself and work hard.
@TheBoxingGoldfish
Glad to hear that's been working out for you. ^^ Don't stop now. :)
@guidingMusic Thank you!
suicide doesn't get rid of the pain it just passes it on to somebody else
@scarredteen Wow, this is an incredible insight! I've never heard it expressed so succinctly and clearly. I wish everyone who is considering harming themselves could read your post. Very wise.
To love myself and that I can do anything!!!!!
@sara1sarley
Yayyy. ^^ Good luck doing everything you're attempting. :)
It's going to be okay no matter what
@BabyFlutterby
I sure hope it will be. <3 Take care.
I've learned to be one with myself. To accept the things can't change and able to change the things I can. I've also learned to love myself.
@MusicalJustice23
Wow nice. ^^ Those ideas are good ones to remember and keep in mind always.
Level 79! I've learned that when I get a certain kind of compulsive feeling (e.g., "I must buy [insert object here] right now, this instant!" or "Chocolaaaaaate!!") I can sit with that feeling and not act on it. Sometimes the feeling lasts a few days, which makes sitting with it very difficult. But when the feeling finally does pass, I can look back and realize that I was correct in not acting on that compulsion. It's very difficult and very uncomfortable and the temptation to give in is quite strong. I'd say about 75% of the time I lose the fight and give in, unable to withstand the feeling of compulsion. But I do win sometimes. It's a very freeing feeling. Almost like walking on a high wire - exhiliarating but balanced. So, at least I'm noticing this about myself and making tiny steps forward.
@neatBanana1862
Congrats. :) Doing things we don't like but Are actually good for us can be difficult, so it's spectacular you're learning to cotrol your impulses and actions. ^^ Take care.
@guiding music Thanks for the encouragement! I love your panda photo, btw!
