I learned that there is a difference between being compromising and considerate and being a doormat and a people-pleaser. I also learned to love myself and advocate for myself a little more

Grieving is a long complicated process that can not be forced. Grieving for the loss of my daughter. Grieving for the life I had before my illness. Grieving for who my parents used to be.

@Birdwatching - Very true. Grieving cannot be forced. I wish you well on your journey and I hope you are taking gentle care of yourself too.

@LadyofShallot2k16 Me too. It's not always easy, but it's possible. For me it helps to think through my fears to see them more accurately, avoid procrastination, and identify self-abusive thoughts.

P.S. I love your username! "The Lady of Shallot" is a fantastic poem. I'm a big fan of medieval fantasy such as the tales of Camelot. In fact, I'm watching the British TV show "Merlin" on Netflix right now. It's amazing.

Letting go, feeling peace, accepting me,

letting go is as much a process as grieving

feeling peace is the reward

accepting who I am and who I've become will become easier

That's how I always been all my life people would say to me "hi how r u looking good" my response would be to them " oh I doing great ". No I'm not I finally realized I needed help guidance with my journey. It's ok to be not feeling right - not happy and don't have all the answers not knowing where all the pieces to the puzzle fit because
