I've learned to accept that I can't do everything, and that failing at something isnt the end of the world.

I've learned how to get a better handle on my emotions, how to breathe even when I'm angry. I learned how to vent my anger on a appropriate manner and how to express whats on my mind to others in a non over emotional manner.smiley

Learned that though I'm one of the more 'shy' people in live group chats with confrontation- if you talk &@$#* about autism or people who have it - I WILL stand up. I will get mad. And I wont hide that fact. I will definately fight you. (my normal behavior is very different, it's just this one thing and a lot of people with autism are scared to stand up- it's terrifying for me too. But if I can defend my people - just try and stop me.) It's a shame there's such a lack of understanding for autism even on this site sometimes.

*heavy breathing*

My 'aspi-girls', 'aspi-boys', and autistic kids/teens/adults of every kind, anywhere on the spectrum, deserve kindness. <3

It really doesn't feel like I've actually learned anything new recently. I started a DBT class, though, so I'm learning ways to manage my life. I think one thing I've been reminded of is that being able to manage my emotions isn't going to be easy. It's going to take a lot of time and effort. And because it takes time and effort, I don't need to push myself too much in other areas of life. That way I'll keep giving up half way through "recovering" and lose more motivation. Self care needs to be a top priority.
