For starters it was the first time I talked to someone outside of the problem about it in detail. They suggested that cognitive behaviour therapy is a good path for me and since then having read a lot about it, I agree. Frequent meditation and disciplined therapy (even of the self) can be rewarding. I'm not expecting results overnight but sure am determined to get better.

Admission of the problem, talking to others, knowing there's help out there.

That I CAN do what I need to

What I've learned so far on my journey is that there are people out there who care and are always willing to help out but it's up to you to make a change.

@GlenM I've learned that every little thing matters. It's not like this is a new concept for me - I've experimented with biohacking and quantified self. Strictly controlled my environment, experimented, and learned the results. I knew that the smallest changes can make a difference, especially if they're a pattern that forms. I guess it just never occurred to me to apply that logic to my mind rather than my body and my environment. But as I've come here and worked on the exercises, I've moticed an upward trend in my mentality. Sure, listing some things I'm thankful for might seem like a small silly task, but if you keep at it, your mind gets used to working that way. You become more thankful.

I think it was an important realization.
