Not sure why, but the past 3 days have been harder and worse on me. I'm struggling just to get out of bed and I thought I was doing better. Why is it just so hard to move on from a 6 month relational?

July 18th, 2016

@Butterflychic six months is a pretty big chunk of time! Something I have found to be true is if you have a relationship that has deeply impacted you, it will take at least that long to get over it. So, for the next 6 months you might still have trouble moving on. But that's ok! You probably just don't recognize who you are without the other person. Those days when you really miss that person, or you wonder what you did wrong, take extra special care of yourself! Decide to do the things you love the most, eat the food that you love, hang out with friends or family who make you feel relaxed and happy! Write your thoughts down, or talk to someone here if you want feedback without judgement. But don't expect it to just go away. If that relationship was precious to you, you have to give it space in your heart, without letting it take over everything else. Acceptance will come, but you have to accept yourself first. Don't try to jump into another relationship right away, but work on your relationship with yourself. It's cliché, but taking a walk, moving around, is very good for you. Think about taking up a new hobby or learning a new skill. Then, when it's been 6 months, you may find that you've already moved on, because you've rediscovered yourself without that person.

@indigoBeechwood9335 I understand it's hard to be calm when you're in the middle of a storm of strong emotions. But I salute you for making that choice. Choosing to be calm is a great first step. smiley

@GlenM One of the biggest things I have learned is even when I and my friends in Dissabiility Sopprt Room are struggling and feel very lost alone n helpless...taking a deap breath n throwing a vertual 7cups beach birthday party can really help everyone let go for a little while n laugh...we also try to remember to just play a little. I don't know what I would do without the people who have becomemy friends and family there.

@Usednbrokenberrings Aw, it's so nice to read that you've found support and friendship in the chatroom. That beach party sure sounds fun too!

I've learned that this app likes to delete accounts. This is the third time I've had to start over again. I was at step 185 now back to 90.

@1977john Oh no! I am sorry to hear you had such an experience. But I commend you for getting back up to past 100. You are the prime example of getting back up and moving forward after a fall. smiley
