At this point I am realizing that it's ok to have bad days, it's the self acceptance that comes with the bad days that is so important. I struggled with self acceptance today when I felt I was sliding backwards. I'm doing better understanding now that it happens to everyone and to be kind to yourself
@JaxMairghread Indeed for the bad days are a necessary part of life that come to give us just lessons. Its the good days we seek and aim for
:)
Keep going. Roads are long. Storms will come. Life will try to stop you from reaching what you want. You have to fight through all that life gives you. Defy the normal and keep treading. Your spirit is the strongest tool you have to keep going.
The more we struggle against, the more we suffer.
@SweetMango Exactly ! ACCEPT everything that comes your way ! That's the way to reduce suffering . :)
I learned that it's hard to let things go but sometimes you have too. It's better to focus on the good things and hold on to those. I learned that it's okay to feel hurt. And I learned I need to take care of myself before I worry about others.
I e learnt to silence my mind and thoughts & just be in this moment right now. Meditation is a part of my everyday life now & will always continue to be. Love & light ✌🏼️🙏🏼💜
@GlenM I'm not sure if this is where I should post what I have learned so far on this site but i'll do it anyway.
I have learned a few important things so far. One of them is the importance of gratitute by making us log 3 things we are grateful for everyday. I've learned how much it actually helps to talk to others about our problems and how much insight that brings us into our own problems. I've learned that there are many good people still in this world, and many people are going through exactly the same thing I'm going to, and that I'm not alone and always have someone who is happy to listen to me as I'm happy listening to others. I've learned that psychology & my religion (Buddhism) have a lot in common as they both share the importance of compassion and being there for others when they need you. Most probably i've learned a lot more than this but I will stop here for now.
Managed to vent some of the anxiety I have in a healthy way the last few days. Distracting myself, talking to my parents, writing emails or having conversations with friends about the situation, writing on here about it, doing a ton of exercise. I do feel unhappy with what's going on atm but I feel less like I've reacted impulsively to my emotions and inadvertently caused grief for someone else as a result.
I also finally decided the other day I want some kind of talking therapy or someone I can speak to semi regularly who can be objective. I've known I might 'need' therapy for a while but kept putting it off because I thought I should be able to solve it myself. Now I think I can see the benefits for me and how it might help.
