Im catching myself fall into depression lately. I know it's not permenant. And i have learned positive ways to relieve some of the symptoms which makes easier to accept the way i feel and not get sucked deeper into my negative thoughts and feelings.

I've learned that I cannot change everyone's mind nor can I control their mouth. What I can control is me. My reactions and my responses. It'd better to keep my mouth closed and opinions to myself and appear dumb than to open my mouth in anger or fear and remove all doubt.

@WanderingSoul93

Hi WanderingSoul93,

I used to think that would be the best way too. But then again I decided that I would lose my power by not saying anything. Now, I think a bit more about it and then I try to say something helpful. If i know it's someone who intentionally says unkind things, i may just say "oh my, that's interesting!"

Step 150! (Again, because last time I said 150 while it was 140 (such a liar))

I have learned to appreciate Christmas without offering and expecting to receive any gifts.
I have begun a road towards minimalism, and I have shown my care and appreciation for others through attention, cooking, and having nice discussions, rather than giving material items.
So far it has been a great experience.

I m up to step 70, and actually, I ve learned how much I still have to do. I am grateful to 7cups for being here. It allows me to connect with other people and start to shape "me" time where I connect and work through my growth path and contribute to forums. I now need to figure out concrete changes I could make to improve my situation. Part of the reason I m stuck is because I ve drawn a total blank on what to do to improve things. I feel out of control and overwhelmed. This year, I need to decide how to proceed, and set some concrete, achieveable goals to help me get there.

Step 50: I've learned that saying "No" is healthy and people are going to talk about you no matter what you do so do what makes YOU happy and forget what they say! People who hate themselves will try to bring you down and talk negatively about your goals so avoid them when you find out who they are. And those who only call to talk when they need to vent or want something aren't really that great of a friend after all. I've learned about people who drain you and use you. And how to stop them. Thank you for that.

@GlenM I learnt that I need to focus on good things to feel good.

I completed step 15. I've learnt that I need to take more time to calm down and pay attention to others feelings more than my own.
