I have learned that asking for help makes me stronger, not weaker, and I am allowed to feel down and not always be the strongest. And sometimes I have to be more "selfish", I should ask for a hug when I need one and sometimes wake my mom up in the middle of the night because she wants me to and it's better for everyone if every once in a while I take care of myself.

@ShitPerson Yes! Isn't it so wonderful to have someone in your corner? I think being nice to ourselves and loving ourselves can be such a difficult thing for some of us to learn, but it sounds like you're making some powerful strides :).

I've learned to treat myself like I would anyone else, and that helping others can be a good way to help yourself, as long as you continue to make yourself a priority.

If you need to cry - cry. Feel your emotional hurt don't ignore it.

I've learned that I can go farther than I think if I just take everything day by day a little at a time

You don't have to be defined as depressed,it's finding a mindset that gets yourself out of hurting yourself, finding a close friend who will watch you fall asleep, so that they can make sure you are ok.

I have learned that as long as you are alive, there is still a chance it will get better

Loving yourself involves some difficult work sometimes, and that's ok. It is ok to feel bad, it doesn't make you bad.
