Learned some CBT and relaxation skills to help calm de down and to ease the depression. It isn't easy but it's also more fun to do it in bite size segments. That is very achievable like that since my concentration is diminished right now.

@Joyfulsorrow111 - Many things are better in bite size segments.

I'm at step 90 on my Growth Path. I'm learning that the self-compassion activity helps me identify with my own experience. Having that exercise pop up as often as it does helps me learn to pay attention to my own emotions and experiences; something I never really learned to do. I'm starting to notice that a self-compassionate voice in my mind is appearing more often, asking me to focus on its questions, getting me to reflect inward and providing me comfort. It isn't fool-proof. The critical voice is still there more often than not. But it's a difference I'm noticing.

@Zeraphim - I'm so glad to hear about your self-compassionate voice! It's great news. The inner critic will always be there, but now you also have a positive voice you can feed.

Back to a point of depression. Understanding that my own mindset affects a lot of this, but I am overwhelmed by life. Even when, in the big picture or relative to others, it is not bad. I think I am just struggling to stay happy, being content. Feel like everything is fragile and flweting, which it is. Hard to push through. Tired of pushing. Tired of the grind. Just tired. Need a break and someone to talk to that can say it really is ok.

I have learned "Old ain't dead"! (I heard that in a TV show lately, a cute Canadian detective series called "Private Eyes.") 👵🏼🙏🏼💪🏼👍🙂

I've learnt that, sometimes, the best thing to do is to slow down, take care of yourself, and allow for a period of peace and happy reflection. And that stress and worry can be suspended to grant this.
