@GlenM One thing I learned on this step of my journey is to stay positive. I have learnt so many things to help myself stay positive and it has really helped me. I now have the motivation to spend time with friends and go outside! I'm so proud of myself.

One thing that I'm learning more and more over time is that there is so much in the world around me that I simply cannot control, no matter how hard I try or want things to happen a certain way. A couple of things this applies to include other people's political opinions, what people will decide to do at a social gathering, what my family and friends like and dislike, traffic conditions, and most notably, what other people think of me. Although I've probably been told countless times already that I cannot control such matters, I think I've recently been able to truly realize what it means and how it applies to me. So I'm trying my best not to stress over issues such as whether or not people agree with me on certain topics or how others judge my actions or decisions. Instead I try to focus on the things that I know I CAN control, which for the most part consists of what I choose to do in a given situation. For instance, I cannot control what my friend thinks of a certain show or game that I enjoy; what I can control is how I react to what he/she says about it. This isn't to say that I overreact or get angry when a friend hates something that I like, more that I sometimes overthink it or sometimes try to defend my opinion inside my head as if it really matters that much.
