I've learned that healing comes slow. It comes in leaps and bounds then the next day you're further back then you started. But in the long run its better than just falling back.

I'm not sure what I've learned. Maybe that I need to be nicer to myself?

I learned that every day is a fresh start, another chance to accomplish things and be happy with what is and not complain about what is not - unless you are willing to change it. For example, I have stopped complaining (to myself or my partner) about my health problems. I am fat and I know what to do to change that (diet and exercise), so until I take steps to change that problem (my weight) and the further problems it has created (e.g. arthritis in my hips and especially my knees), I have no one to blame but me, and complaining will not solve the problem. It will only serve to make me more dissatisfied with myself, depress me further and maybe lead to my taking out that frustration on others, like my partner. He does not deserve that. I made my bed, as the saying goes...
