I was always told that positive thinking yields positive results, so I did my best not to think anything negative. If I felt lonely, depressed, hopeless, lost, etc, I put those feelings aside to focus on solutions to my issues. Sometimes I told myself that my heart lied to me and everything was fine. I tried to be peachy keen all the time because the world only wants to hang around happy people. But I've learned that I was just repressing my feelings- ignoring them won't make them go away. I don't need to pretend to be something I'm not or who I think the world wants me to be. Emotions need to be released, and I need to take time every day to actually go through them. That doesn't mean that I let them take over my life or that I stopped looking for solutions, but I need to release my feelings in order for the feeling to go away. Harboring them in only lets them grow. I've also learned that it's okay to not be okay. I am a cheerful person, but sometimeslife can suck and I need to be honest about what I'm going through. I won't pretend a tidal wave isn't about to wash ashore and the beach is full of sunshine. I also don't assume the whole world will end from this storm. I roll with the tides and learn to surf! I don't need to be happy all the time-balance is important!

Look at a bad situation as an opportunity to overcome something.

170?

Lately, I've been pushing myself to the limit. I have university stuff which needs to be done due to a screwed up advisory thing with my classes- so now I have to marathon through classes for the next two months. My ailment has came back, which I go to the doctor for tomorrow... and then coping with the abusive, unhealthy creature at home. I'm tired, to say the least, and keep forcing myself forward.

This is not good. For all the telling me to relax, I cannot. Essentially, what I've learned is that sometimes we got to get ourselves out of this kamikaze work ethic that is so fatalistic. Yeah, a day or two off. NOT focusing and obsessing over work/school/some d-bag causing you problems. Just off. A cup of tea, maybe some Netflix or games. Something that makes you feel good and will give you a little vacay.

Of course, I'm learning to do this not too much either. Cuz sometimes I procrastinate till the bitter end and just more or less disassociate with it. Keeping focused, but not letting yourself wander too much. Such a fine balance to things! Very tricky. OH! And time management.

The work never ends. There's always a deeper component to you. The further you learn, the easier it is to let go stuff that's not really you. It starts off scary, but then you realize that what's left is really who you are. You're not less by letting go, you're more you.
