I learned to be in touch with my emotions, be aware of my feeelings and moods, and not react impulsively to them. I have learned the importance of self awareness, patience and calm. I have also learned the importance of listening to others to seek understanding and not just to respond.

@intellectualMelon5928 I'm glad to hear that you are getting in touch with your emotions and self awareness! It is quite easy to react on instinct and not take the time to pause and contemplate things first. Way to go!

@nic01e Wow, great work! Writing things down is a great method to properly express our thoughts and emotions and contemplate them. :D

Step 160! I've learned that internal dialogue is so important and we need to watch what we say to ourselves. I've also learned how to advocate for myself! :D

@KimmyD1213 Yay, congrats on reaching step 160! Indeed, we often tend to not spend enough time on ourselves and focus on how we treat others. I am also glad you are starting to be an advocate for yourself. Fantastic job!

Questions and activities are irritating

@rationalCar998 Welcome to the community! For a number of reasons, they certainly can be annoying. I hope you come across ones that are not as irritating and more useful for you. :)

Why do I still use this app?

User Profile: lovelyWhisper66
lovelyWhisper66 April 6th, 2018

@MiloIsBoring I think you are definitely not the only one to ask that question! I'm sure when you take the time to think about it, you will come across the answer. :)

@lovelyWhisper66 I just spent three hours typing, deleting and retyping hateful responses because I'm feeling a lot of rage and self hate, right now. I'm sorry. The truth is, I'm here because I don't trust myself. I've always carried with me this sense that I was different or broken and, now that I'm 19, I see how pathetic it all is and I know maybe there is something in my head but I don't trust it. I've fcked up so much in my short life that the idea of being told I'm fine and it was all just my fault, if my doctor says, 'No, Sam, you're just a lazy, pretentious teen,' I think I would honest to God die. No one takes me seriously, Hell, I can't take myself seriously. But on this site I can find some random, suburban mums and 14 year olds with bad taste in music, and I can tell them I'm suicidal and they'll pretend to care just enough to make me feel guilty, just enough to help me live another day. It's sorta sick when you see it as a whole, but that's why I stay on this app.

@MiloIsBoring No need to apologize at all, I appreciate your honesty. Given how you have been treated both in real life and here, it is understandable that you feel frustrated and even question the point of remaining with 7Cups. Nobody likes it when they are not taken seriously, and you deserve to be heard out and understood by others. I'm sorry to hear of how others have not seemed to understand you, and it is even worst when we doubt ourselves. I am glad though that you are still here and willing to give the site another try. I don't know your whole story, but I do not think you are messed up. I really hope that I'm not making you feel guilty, but we are here for you in any way. Thank you again for opening up, and please feel free to reach out to the listeners if you want someone to talk to. :)

The ONLY thing I have done good lately is listened to you guys.... Been a terribly hard week. My mom is dying, and if I don't find a job soon I will literally lose it.

I kind of wish there was more variety in the steps you take...

User Profile: lovelyWhisper66
lovelyWhisper66 April 6th, 2018

@Allyoverboard Indeed, I can imagine how repetitive it can get after awhile! Well, you can always do your own steps for awhile and then return to the assigned ones whenever you feel like doing them. :)
