I'd say that I've learned the importance of taking time out of my day just to focus on myself. I used to think that I was lazy or selfish for wanting this, but now I've come to realize just how important it really is.

@quietDime4559, You're not lazy at all. Focusing on yourself can be very important :)

What I've found the most joy in since I started this journey a few days ago (now on step #10), is the sense of reconnection--with old friends I'd lost touch with, with distant family members, with myself.

When anxiety and depression have their claws dug in and I'm pulled down the hole, I almost never truly realize the extent of how bad it was until I'm crawling back out again. Seeing the relationships I've let lapse because I've been hesitant to contact people, realizing as I sing and dance to a favorite song while alone in the elevator that I haven't done that for nearly six months... It's like the pins & needles of a limb that's fallen asleep: hurts like hell, but at least I know that it's because I'm coming back to life.

I've learned that I have been focusing too much on the struggles and negatives in my life and it has made an impact on my wellbeing. I need to begin to focus more on myself, what kind of person I want to be, and the positive influences in my life.

I just reached #20, and I've learned to be more mindful and to not get wound up as much.
