It's all about perspective. In one moment, it may feel like the world is ending, but as long as you remember that you will not always hurt so badly, you will be okay.

I've reached #10 and although it's not that big of a deal, it's the first step I've actually taken to try and make myself feel better

Being thankful for small things doesn't make you any less positive than being thankful for "more important" things; everything you're thankful for is important.
