Wow where do I even start here? When I joined 7cups, you had only been a listener for a few months. I remember you telling me that you were relatively new but that you would be here for me to support however possible. I knew from that first chat that we had a good connection. But I was shy back then and was worried I would get on your nerves if i contacted you again despite you telling me otherwise. So what did you do? You messaged me back first to show me that I wasn't being a bother to you. Honestly the feeling that I had when I saw you contacted me again was unreal. I was used to people not really caring about me but with you it was so different. Over the years of speaking to you, I have made so much progress in my recovery in so many ways and I know that I wouldn't have been able to do that without you. I felt I have healed from so much trauma in my past with your help and support. I can also stand up and be proud as a gay man and know that i have every right to live as I do without having to hide away in secret.
You're honestly the one and only role model that I have ever had in life and even now, I look up to you. When you tell me you are proud of me for something I feel like a kid who has really pleased their parents. I've said this before and I'll say it again, you are like the mum I never had but always dreamed of having.
You're the only person who is patient enough to stick with me through so much stuff. To read every single word in the novel length messages I send you. You have the patience of a saint and a heart of gold 💛 yet, sometimes you manage to point out that maybe I need to look at things in a different way. Your guidance has allowed to do so much healing and also maturing into the man I am today.
We have chats where I cry then laugh then do both at the same time. I love how you can always sense when I'm having a rough day and send me a message or one of your quote pics. And I love even more when you spring one of your jokey pictures at random times to make me smile.
7 cups as a community are truly blessed to have you here, I know first hand what an Angel you are and I can say without a doubt, and with no exaggeration that you have saved my life so many times.
Thank you for everything you continue to do Lee. Don't ever change. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

@Nicole27 Leanne I remember the first night I spoke to you so well. I was nervous about contacting you because I thought you might be too busy to speak to me with how many people your stats said you helped. That other listener contacted you for me and you said you would speak to me straight away. What a relief I felt even in that first night.

After speaking to dozens of listeners I finally knew that you were the right connection for me. You made feel like I could say anything and everything that I wanted to. You were the one person who picked up on something that I thought i had to keep hidden away and when you brought it up to me, I felt such an immense sense of relief after so many years.
That seems like a lifetime ago now. You have been with me every step of the way in my journey. Be it while I was in my room sobbing at night, right the way through my legal battles and victories.
You have transformed me from being a victim of trauma to being a survivor in a safe place living a life that I never thought possible. I know that your response to that will be "you did all the hard work Nic" but I know for sure that I couldn't have done this without you. I wouldn't have been able to admit the truth about my life without you giving me the safe space and guidance for so many months.
I've never in my life come across anyone with such a good heart as you. Someone who will be there at 4 in the morning calming me down when anxiety strikes the most. Someone who looks out so much for the safety of her members here on cups yet someone who stays quietly in the background not making a fuss.
Throughout my 20ish years, all I'wanted is to be safe and to know that there are good people in the world. Someone who actually cares, well, almost 2 years ago I found you and all of things things have fallen into place.
People think of online chats and just don't realise what an impact they can actually have on someone's life. When someone doubts the effect that online support can have, then they should come to you. They would see just what is possible between 2 people sitting behind their screens.
I hope you continue to be here for a long time to come Leanne because no words can ever cover how much you mean to me and many others. You're a kind hearted lady who will do all you can to help someone in their suffering, who can make someone laugh till tears stream down their face without even realising you said something hilarious. Someone who can make the person your talking to, actually want to wake up the next morning and live another day. That's truly a special gift.
I want to thank you for everything you have done and continue to do.
