One year with 7 Cups - @cristiana33
Hello everyone!
I have been here for over a year now. I am just now realizing I missed my 1 year anniversary on 7 Cups, which was on June 28th. In this first year on 7 Cups I've accomplished many, many things and I want to name a few of them:
- Became part of some projects (Resources, Welcoming Committe - sadly, I am not an active member of any of these anymore; However, once I started being part of a project and working towards a concrete goal I realized how dedicated and cheerful our Listeners Community is; slowly I grew into a responsible, confident Listener and person)
- Became a Group Mod and part of my first support Team (High School Support - which is now called Student Support - again, I am not an active member of this team anymore but this was the first time on 7 Cups when I challenged myself to host and coordinate group discussions and became friends with a few Members, not just Listeners; what I like the most is that many of these Members still remember my discussions and are happy when I pop into a chatroom)
- Became an Adult/Teen Listener (this was something I wanted to do from the beginning; before 7 Cups I was part of another startup where I offered advice to many teens and young people so switching to active listening and Adults only was a big challenge; being able to offer my support to teens again was one of the most amazing moments and I am still a very active Listener for teens)
- Became a Forum Mentor (Relationship & Bullying Support are still my favourite support forums, even if now after 6 months I have decided to step down from this position; being a Forum Mentor allowed me to mentor other listeners and dedicate myself to being a leader and being more organized as I had to teach others how to be better in their position and also had to take care of our beautiful forums)
- Became an Intern Graduate with Honors at 7 Cups (this was the biggest challenge of them all - I had to explore the community and work with myself to achieve all the requirements while knowing little about who can support me and who can't; I tried my best to listen to cases I normally wouldn't listen to and I actually learned some really amazing things; my offline efforts made me realize how dedicated and passionate I am for this cause and that made me want to help future interns as well)
- Became a Community Mentor (Internship Project - this is my most loved section and project of 7 Cups at the moment; I am so drawn to making this project a lot more than it is right now; I realized I am really organized, responsible, and can do so much from my position of a Mentor; as a Forum Mentor you don't really mentor anyone, while as an Internship Mentor you have an ocean of new interns being so so excited to learn more; I love this opportunity!)
- Became a Clinical Operations Assistant (this is my newest position and by far the most close one to my career aspirations - I have many hopes from this position and hope not to disappoint)
I've done SO MUCH in this year at 7 Cups. I've made great connections with both Listeners and Members and I have seen many people appreciate my work. I am still far from what I want to achieve in here so be prepared! I'm coming!!! Haha
Thank you all!
