Anyone else...?
Hello,
I'm just curious if there are anyone else out there that enjoys the little things in life. For example, at my new career work site, I'm always taking public transit. So, a lot of the times, I'm outside waiting for the bus or the skytrain. I have wired earphones in one ear, listening to my music playlist from my phone. Unlike all the others also waiting for the bus, they are all looking at their phones. For me, I'm often looking up into the sky. There is a specific cloud formation that is my favorite and it brings a smile to my face whenever I see it, which is not often.
Pictures I take by my phone are clouds, or rays of sunlight beaming through the clouds. I notice that whenever I see blue skies and clouds, my eyes widen and I'm just enjoying the moment.
I feel that in this day and time, like 95% of people waiting or riding public transit, have their heads down looking at their phones. Like yesterday, waiting for the bus, there were at least 6 other people in queue, and there was an interesting looking vehicle that passed by in front of me. It's like the ones I've seem on gameshows, where it's a one seater in a really small space, and it was riding on the road with other cars. It had a flag on the end, because it was really low, maybe only 2-3 feet in height. Just enough for me to see a man driving it inside. It was bright orange. I had take a second look, but noticed everyone in line, not one person saw it.
Maybe because I like to be aware of my surroundings or I like nature more than looking at my phone. But I'm just curious if there is anyone else out there like me? As I have not seen anyone here that does it.

No, you are not alone. I am like you. There is so much beauty around us. Immersing oneself lets us forget the daily hustle in our minds.
@Jaeteuk Ooh, what a great mindset! I believe I do that most of the time, especially staring at the clouds! The clouds can have different shapes and sizes that can truly resemble things from our childhood. I remember one of my favourite clouds formations was a dinosaur. 🤣 Great observation! That's a cool thing to see. 😎
My favourite clouds are the Cirrocumulus Clouds. Another way that it's described are like fish scales. I really love how the sun rays shine through clouds though. Seeing those clouds or sun rays are enough to put a smile on my face.

@Jaeteuk Woah! I didn't know there were different types of clouds? That's truly an interesting fact hahahaha, I'm glad you mentioned about it! Sounds pretty cool to know about them. ❤️
I used to be a member of Scouts, and we learned about constellations and cloud formations. Some things just stuck with me.
@Jaeteuk I love your outlook and emphasis on how important it is to be present in the moment and enjoy the simple things in life. I often find myself stopping outside, just taking a deep breath in, and appreciating the air and beauty outside. I work as a flight instructor and love all of the different cloud types, my personal favorite are lenticular clouds. They are lens shaped and usually form over or near mountains thanks to the air blowing in a wave pattern over mountains. I recommend looking up videos of them so you know what to look for if you're around any terrain like that! Thank you for sharing your positivity 😄☁️🌤️
I love the little moments! My favorite Time of day is the morning because I can go outside in the cool breeze and smell flowers and listen to Nature. It's even better when I have a warm drink like hot chocolate 👍
Ah yes. You know, I also like the smell of the air after it rains and the breeze when I'm out walking. Sometimes, I'll stand there and close my eyes, and enjoy the breeze on my face, in my hair. I'm also very aware of birds in the air. Whenever I'm in a ride (bus or skytrain), I'm always scanning the tree tops, see if I could spot an eagle or falcon. Also, at bus stops, I make sure there's like no pigeon or on the lamp post near me, don't want to get bird poop on my head.

Yes you are not alone. For me The nature of around us is more beautiful than other gadgets.these gadgets are distroying are human sense of feelings things around us .
I don't understand why people need to be looking at their phones all the time. Some are watching videos, playing games, reading, etc. Why can't they be enjoying the view outside while on public transit? Be alert of the road and the cars around us. That is why I used a wired earphone, and only have it in one ear. You know, in case there are announcements made on the Skytrains, I could hear it.. or if I'm in a bus, I can hear sirens or other things that happen on the road. I'd only take my phone out to check the time, otherwise, it's in my pocket.
On public transit, I can see, maybe one in twenty people not be looking at the phones. Otherwise, everyone is holding their phone and looking at it, no matter the age. I'm the odd one that uses wired earphones to listen to music from the phone, and the odd one that isn't constantly looking at my phone during my ride.
You're right, people nowadays are so obsessed with gadgets that they are losing the awareness of things happening around them, and what nature has to offer. It's actually quite sad.

When one of my friends' dogs just acknowledges me, even when I'm not feeling so great, he takes the time to come up to me and give me kisses, then he goes about his day. He doesn't do this with many people, so it feels good.
I feel like not enough people acknowledge the little things, but when you notice them, it can seem like a bigger world.Does that make sense? it makes sense in my head
That dog is so sweet. Agreed.. and little things add up. Many people take things for granted or they are just too focused on themselves and cannot see what is going on around them. I'd like to blame it on all the advanced technology gadgets. People are so obsessed and they are so convenient, that they are missing out on the more natural things. Or we're just special.
