Random gratitude moment

A colleague at work said something I disagreed with and felt quite annoyed about. I knew I wanted to challenge it, but like many times in the past, I didn't know how. I felt combative and argumentative, but knew I didn't want to go down that route. I wrestled with it on and off for days. And then one day found myself thinking about it from the point of view of a listener and almost immediately came up with a couple of phrases that felt right. And suddenly knew, "That's how I want to be heard!". The irony was amusing, but I believe possibly well known, that in learning to listen, I'd learnt how i wanted to be heard. And so I'm here to express my gratitude to the those who set up the listening ethos of 7 cups, to those who practice and teach and support and encourage within it. This week I took another step forward, thanks to you.

That's all folks, keep doing what you do. 💛

@Clio9876 Wow, that's a great learning experience! I'm glad to hear that 7 Cups helped you in finding a solution to your problem. It's not always easy to handle disagreements with others, especially in a work setting, but it sounds like you were able to find a way to communicate effectively and respectfully. Your gratitude is well-deserved, and it's amazing to hear that you've taken another step forward. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your story with us! 💛

That's so awesome and encouraging to hear. The ethos of 7 cups, if applied, can really solve many of the conflicts and arguments that occur on daily basis. It's amazing that you were able to find patience and perspective in that time and I think spending that time to reflect and also sort of simmer down the feelings was a great move. Thanks for sharing this with us!
