Charlie Chaplin says:

When I was a child, I went to the circus with my father. We had to stand in a long line to buy tickets.

In front of us was a poor family parents with six children. Their clothes were old but clean, and the children looked very happy, excitedly talking about the circus.

When it was their turn, the father stepped up to the ticket window and asked about the price. Then he leaned over and whispered something to his wife. There was embarrassment and sadness on her face.

Then I saw my father take twenty dollars out of his pocket and drop them on the ground. He placed his hand on the man’s shoulder and said,

“Your money fell down.”

The man looked at my father, tears in his eyes, and said,

“Thank you very much.”

When they went inside to watch the circus, my father held my hand and we quietly walked away because those twenty dollars were all the money my father had.

From that day on, I have been proud of my father. That moment became the most beautiful scene of my life more beautiful than the circus I never got to see.

Empathy is a very powerful thing, but sadly, this feeling seems to be fading in today’s new generation. ✨❤️‍🩹
