@jesusredeemedme2425

I have never been in the military but my husband served in the Viet Nam War back in the late 1960's and early 1970's.

One thing I believe I can say is that for my husband and for many who have served in war, is that it may be very difficult for them to talk about.  This is a subject that my husband never talks about.  If I or someone else were to ask him a question about his time in the military, he will provide a response but he does not go into great detail.  I respect that this is a subject that is not easy for him to talk about so I try not to ask many questions.  Just thought I would pass on what I have personally experienced

@jesusredeemedme2425

I am not deaf but over the last 10 or more years I have been losing some of my hearing.  Over this period of time it has been extremely frustrating when people become impatient and irritable with me for asking them to repeat what they have said.  What people do not understand is that those of us who do not hear as well also struggle with noise levels in general.  An example is that if I were in a restaurant where there are a lot of people talking and possibly background music, I not only cannot hear what the people at my table are talking about, but all the other noises are muffled.

Recently, I chose to get hearing aids which has greatly improved my hearing and understanding what others are saying.  Hearing aids are taking some time to get used to but I am grateful that they were available for people like me and I believe they can improve my quality of life.
