How People and Their Words Impact You !!!

Today I am sharing what has been going on in my mind for quite some time......

' How People and Their Words Impact You !!! '

Is it what someone says or how they say it that impacts, affects or disturbs you......???

I would say it's both.....

Most of the time I notice that people don't really make an effort to understand what you are trying to

get across , invariably they read what they want to and jump to conclusions hence your point remains unaddressed and in fact upssts you rather than address your concern.

Secondly most of the time I find people's response is more a kneejerk reaction rather than a communication with the intent to have a dialogue or see your viewpoint....

I too used to do something earlier..... with self -growth and introspection I no longer do it, not even to those who do it with me. Today I read through what is communicated to me several times, internalize, introspect and then with a calm mind I respond with intense awareness of how I am saying what I am.

My intention is to communicate rather than to tell someone off....... and most of the time I notice that I am able to convey what I want to and the person does get the point...... well at least some do which is good enough....... laugh

I'd like to some up with what my spiritual Guru shared with me not too long ago and which has become embedded deep within me......

" it's not what you say but how you say it and that makes all the difference "........

So my take here is be mindful of not only your words but more importantly how you convey them........

Do deliberate closely before you send them off !!!

@RideaRainbow I love this post, its so full of wisdom and I would agree its not so much what you say but how this is said.

Perhaps sometimes people don't actually hear what's actually be said and meant, because people may be quick to react due to their own issues, their own perceptions, own beliefs, insecurities, their own personal experiences and circumstances, their vulnerabilities, fears and so on.

Words and language can mean very different things across the globe and if something is said in text or online it can easily be misunderstood.. When we speak, we use many ways to express ourselves and to get our message across. The words we choose, our body language, our gestures, and our facial expressions are all important aspects of communication. For example, you can tell someone that you care about them but if your tone, actions, behaviour and gestures say different, then the words can become meaningless. You can say something with your tongue and something completely different with your tone, gaze and general attitude. Learning how to communicate thoughts is a true art form.

Its also perhaps not what you say that matters its also how you feel about what you say. Words by themselves have little impact; its the feeling you put behind the words that give them power if you are trying to convey something to someone else and this then having an impact upon other people? Human communication is a complex process, that also has some degree of error. It doesnt only depend on the words that we use to say things (though these are very important), but also of an innumerable amount of external factors. Its our intention perhaps which can define the essence of what we are trying to say.
