P&G Check-in: March 8 - March 14
Hello to all wonderful people in the Positivity & Gratitude Sub Community
One of the best ways of showing respect to others is by listening. Patiently listening to another person's point of view is an excellent way of respect.
The person feels valued and respected. This may not solve their problems. But it elevates them emotionally. This is exactly what 7cups intends to do.

Today, I’m going to ask you 2 questions.
1. How are you doing today?
2. How do you show respect during a conversation?
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.
Please take care and do stay safe !

Hey there, thankyou for the check - in . Rightly said ,active listening can do wonders ❤
1. How are you doing today?
Doing good. How about yourself ? 😊
2. How do you show respect during a conversation?
Sone ways in which I show respect are, by listening to the other person, by listening to understand and not just to reply, by not interrupting and/or cutting them in between , disagreements if any should be put across politely with the intention to clear things so we're all on the same page and not just to belittle the other person , there's so many more ways in which we can show respect in conversations, with that being said, a little kindness, some patience and alot more compassion ,honesty and transparency goes a long way for healthy communication❤
@alphav7
1. How are you doing today?
I'm doing well thank you :)
2. How do you show respect during a conversation?
I agree with you, that listening is very important. One of the best pieces of advice I have ever heard is: Listen without thinking about what you're going to say next. So often we are focussed on what we're going to say that we're not truly listening to the other person.
@alphav7
1. How are you doing today?
I'm a little stressed, but it's not too bad. Overall, my mood is quite good.
2. How do you show respect during a conversation?
Personally, I do my best to not interrupt and to listen to the person all the way, with periodically nodding and making verbal noises that signal that I'm following along on what they have to tell me. I try to really focus on the message that they're conveying, and after they're done talking, I try to choose an appropriate response. If they were talking about something that was difficult for them, I apologize for their hardships, reaffirm my care for them, and ask how I can help them and if they'd like my help. If they were talking about something casual, then I remark upon things that stood out to me, share my own experiences with them (if I've had similar experiences), and ask them for more details on what piqued my curiosity. I think it goes to show that I paid attention to what they had to say, and I know that I would appreciate being treated likewise in turn.
Thanks for the check-in! I appreciate you. (^_^)
Hello @alphav7 , and thanks for the chance to share. 🙂 I’m doing well today. The cold mornings are challenging because I have to warm up or else my joints creak and snap, crackle, pop...but as it warmed up today, it helped my positive outlook. More sunshine as I take my dogs out helps my day to start out peaceful and a cup of warm coffee is refreshing. I enjoyed a trivia night with family that was full of music and dining with close friends. To show respect to others, I like to rephrase what they say or paraphrase it back to them to mirror their thoughts so they know I’m here to help them reflect and I’m not about myself. Sometimes when I say back what a person said in my own words, it helps them to open up more and I find it help with building trust and friendships. What I do
I'm doing okay. School and life in general are stressful but I'm trying to manage and forgive myself more.
I show respect in a conversation by making sure the person knows they have my full attention. I listen actively and ask a few supplemental questions to show my understanding.
