Inspiration!

Hi everyone! I found this quote and wanted to share with you all: "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill

I thought this quote was really eye opening because it gives failure a different perspective. Failure doesn't always have to be a bad thing! Continuing on after a failure is what matters most. Giving up isn't going to get us anywhere, but getting up and working towards our goals besides setbacks is the best thing you can do! What is a time you had a failure and wanted to give up, but pushed yourself to keep going?

Thank you for sharing this inspirational quote with us!

I think one time I had a failure and wanted to give up was when I was when I was at a competition and messed up really poorly on a song, but kept going because I needed to finish as a performer, and I ended up still ranking. Not high of course, but still ranking.

@Jet01

So, I pretty much had a very similar experience. I was trying out for an all-region choir and pretty much tanked myself when I accidentally sang the bass line at the end instead of tenor. For some reason, when I had duetted with this guy on the song days previously, hearing his bass line melody must have stuck itself in my head. Needless to say, I did not make the cut. 😅

@sereneSunset26 Aw I'm really sorry that happened, but everything happens for a reason I truly believe! ❤️

Oh no! hahaha, I used to always mess around and sing the other parts haha, and it is very easy to accidentally sing the wrong parts, I am still in choirs and it happens very easily.

Michael Jordan, I believe, had a quote along the line of "I can accept failure, what I can't accept is not trying."

I would say for myself that I have learned the most through my failures in life. Mainly due to the fact that, for me, painful moments have seemed to be the more teachable ones.

I think mindfulness and meditation have spurred me on the most to keep trying. Thoughts, feelings, and the events that happen to us will pass. And I suppose it's been that fact that has helped me to keep going. That, and well, we only have so much time in this world. Might as well enjoy everyday :)

@sereneSunset26 I totally agree that painful moments are definitely the more teachable moments. You are absolutely right that everything will pass. It's not worth to keep thinking about because there are better times ahead always! ❤️

@fruityPond7887 i love this quote and you are absolutely right about the way failures can work ! <3 making mistakes is a part of life-- everyone makes them and they are basically a necessity ! without mistakes, how would we know what to improve on ? how would we change as people for the better ? it's completely okay to make mistakes and they should definitely be more encouraged than something to be ashamed of. it takes a lot of time to get used to making mistakes sometimes, however, what is important to remember is that they don't any less smart or even just human ! mistakes are good ! <3 they build you and help you grow-- they are essential :)
