Proud of myself for being open
I'm proud of myself for making new friends at the new job I got. Everyone there is really nice, and I've been able to open up and speak candidly with them, more so than I have been with people I met in school. I have a really hard time making friends, so the fact that I'm cracking out of my shell a bit and talking to people is really awesome. I was also about to tell my new friends right off the bat that I'm not straight, which was really freeing for me. I haven't been able to do that with most people I met before. So, yeah. Proud of myself.
@capnbuck way to go. Starting a new job is a if stressor and so is meeting new people. Sounds like you might be happy at your new place of employment? That's great.
Keep doing what you are doing. Being candid is always a good thing.

I also find it very hard to make new friends because I have social anxiety so this post is very inspirational to me :) I'm so glad that you feel like you can speak freely and openly. Good luck with your work and I hope you continue to inspire others with your courage!
