Secret to Silencing Your Inner Critic: It’s Easier Than You Think!

We all have that voice in our heads, the one that’s quick to point out our flaws or remind us of every mistake we’ve made. Trust me, I’ve been there! 😔 But here’s the secret: you don’t have to listen to it.

The first step I took to quiet that voice was simply noticing it. Sounds easy, right? But seriously, just paying attention to when those negative thoughts pop up was huge. I started asking myself, “Is this really true?” More often than not, the answer was a big no. 🤔

Then, I started replacing those harsh thoughts with something kinder. Instead of thinking “I messed up again”, I’d tell myself that “I’m learning and doing the best I can.” It felt cheesy at first (I won’t lie!😄) but it slowly started to shift my mindset.

And here’s the best part: you don’t have to get rid of the inner critic entirely. It’s more about learning how to turn down the volume and make room for more positive and loving thoughts💖

So, what’s one positive thing you can say to yourself today?

"Turn down the volume"~ exactly!

It's a popular phrase- "what we pay more attention to, grows" and it aligns perfectly with negative-ish thoughts and self-talk also.

Super important to take out the time and be mindful about actually noticing the inner critic's voice, and letting it tone down on its own as we pour more love, compassion and kindness in our cup, engage in healthy and positive self-talk!

(Ooh and I love cheese xD so maybe being a little cheesy is great too 😛)

Lovely message here, Phoenix, thanks for sharing! I love how attractively you layer your wordy-posts too, the creative appeal is impressive! 💛

One positive thing for me mhmmm! :0

"Your belief is stronger than your worry; it'll be okay, maybe not today, but someday, keep at it."

How about you? 🌻

It's so true that what we focus on grows whether it's the positive or the negative. So, mindfully quieting the inner critic and pouring love and kindness into ourselves is such a powerful practice. And hey, a little cheesy positivity never hurt anyone, right? 😄🧀

Thank you so much for the sweet compliment! I’m really glad my words resonate with you. 💛

Also, your quote is so uplifting and such a beautiful reminder that belief is always stronger than worry. It really brings a sense of peace. 🙌

Instead of thinking my health is a loss cause, I say “ I’m worth the work.” Take it one step at a time.

@Phoenixthepoised

Thanks for posting this!

I never thought to actually pay attention to it. It was always something I pushed away or gave in to but stepping back and saying "hey, that's not a nice thing to say." is probably way more effective in moving on from it.

@freshRabbit5716 It’s so easy to just push those thoughts away but pausing and recognizing them as not helpful is such a powerful shift. It really does make moving on so much easier.

Glad it resonated with you! 😊

So, what’s one positive thing you can say to yourself today?

It's okay if I do mistakes. At least I get the chance to learn from them. I am not perfect. I am a human
