The Imagined Self Exercise
Imagined self is a technique that involves imagining your ideal self and feeling the joy that you would have felt then. This exercise can act as a catalyst and inspire you to achieve the life you want to live.
The steps are simple:
- Imagine yourself in the future, living the life you have dreamt of – with all the people you want to share it with.
- Imagine that you achieved everything that you are struggling for now, and you are proud of your achievements.
- Immerse yourself into that imagined self of yours and try to impersonate the happiness and positivity that you think you might feel then.
- Next, ask yourself what you can do to get to that stage in life, and journal your responses.
Please share in the comments on how was your experience doing this exercise :) I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Interesting exercise , Braid ! Thanks for making this post ❤
I do this sometimes haha, it's a rather creative one though ..... I imagine myself giving Tedx Talks sometimes :p
I have to say though, it is a great exercise and super motivating and the " feel good " kind ~ instantly able to uplift the mood. 😊
What are your thoughts ,when you've tried the same ? :D

WOW, giving Ted Talks sounds amazing, I love them! What would your topic be?
I usually do this exercise when I lack motivation for my studies or when I feel overwhelmed. It can help me to see that what I am doing is meaningful and helps me to get closer to my ´Ideal self´:)

Hehe thankyouu, just about life experiences, reaching closer to ideal self ~ more like reaching closer to my goals etc!
And aww I get that, it can be hard to stay upbeat and motivated all the time , so nice to see you trying out different ways to keep up ! Best wishes for your goals 🎓❤

I imagined myself happily at home in my house with my boyfriend (now husband) with all of our pets around us, a warm fire going, and watching the snow fall outside.
I just have to be patient and keep working towards that goal! haha
