You don't have to be happy all the time

I used to think that having a "positive" outlook on life meant that you had to be happy all the time. I finally learned that being positive doesn't equal being happy, it just means that even during hard times, we still believe we can get through it.

What are some ways of thinking that have changed for you as you've gotten more life experience?

Hey @halcyonCloud2036 , I commend you for making this post !

Realizing the fine line difference between " seemingly unrealistic positivity " and " a mix of positive and realistic " approach in life , can be surely enlightening and helpful !

Something I've learned over the years is that, one cannot be and will not always be as how they want to be , people change , things happen , we experience breakdowns and we experience setbacks ~ it is vital to reassure ourselves that all of this normal, part of life and in no way would a setback ever mean we are not capable or worthy , these can be taken as lessons to learn from, or to simply accept and move forwards from , at our time and pace, ofcourse. 🌞

@halcyonCloud2036 To want nothing to be different, not forward, not backward.

@halcyonCloud2036

Well for me positive.. I didnt realized how negative my mindset was. Being positive allowed me to be happier. Good days and bad . but i try to be positive in negative situations. Takes practice

Nice one 👌also, a person who believes that he/she/they must always be positive 24/7 may be ignoring serious problems or not addressing underlying mental health issues.
