Grief, Time, And The Space In Between!
Hi hi everyone, hope you’re treating yourself with grace! 💛
With the “new” year reminders still around and slowly settling, it can be a difficult time for so many of us.
Moving into a new year without someone you expected to carry forward with you can feel quietly disorienting. You may notice their absence in small moments, in habits that no longer make sense, or in plans you once imagined would include them. While the world speaks about fresh starts and new beginnings, your heart might still be adjusting to a reality it never chose.
There is a particular kind of grief that shows up when time moves on but the bond still feels very real. Sometimes it is not loud or obvious. It can feel like a pause before making plans, a sense of being slightly out of sync, or a heaviness that settles in during quiet moments.
If this feels familiar, please know that it does not mean you are stuck or moving backward.
It means something meaningful was lost, and your heart is still learning how to hold that absence.
The start of a new year can also bring grief for the future you once imagined. It is okay to miss what was, what could have been, and what now looks different. None of this takes away from your ability to keep going. It simply means you are human and you cared deeply. You are allowed to enter this year slowly. You do not need to feel ready, hopeful, or even healed (whatever this even means, eh?🫂)
You do not need to turn pain into lessons or strength right away. Showing up gently, even if all you can do is breathe and take the day as it comes, is enough.
Time passing does not erase love or connection. It only changes the way we carry them. You do not have to leave anything behind that still holds meaning. You can move forward while still holding memories with care and tenderness.
If you feel comfortable, you are welcome to share how this transition into a new year has been like for you, or what you are quietly carrying with you right now.
There is no pressure to have the right words. Sometimes being heard, even in a few simple sentences, can make the weight feel a little lighter, I feel?
You are not alone here. Really. I see youu, each one of youu here. 💛
Offering safe hugs to everyone needing some.

What a thoughtful post!
So sincere.
And warm.
And beautiful.
I lost a dear friend last year.
It's sad thinking I won't hear his voice this year, his laugh, see his smile, just how young he was, and the unfairness if it being cut so short 💚
