@Remina out of those stages I would have to say I'm in stage 4- depression
Hugs @tinywhisper11
@Remina hugs you back 💗💗 what stage are you on?
@Tinywhisper11
Probably Acceptance <3
@Remina thats good💖 but remember we are here for you 💗
Same girl. Same.
@Remina
I think I am at the stage 5 now.
But it does not give me an armour against considering "what ifs" and wishes to turn back time, or imagining myself on this alternate path.
I've heard and experienced this classification by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross is thoroughly simplified. Those stages may come in a totally different order. They can repeat or morph into one another. And it's more like a wheel (or like stepping up the spiraling stairs with an unobstructed view down) than a straight line. For me it's just a theory, to help you understand. Not a step-by-step manual about what you have to be going through on your way.
For example, is it possible to grieve someone who is still well and alive? Yes. It is. Especially in case of a cancer, with the final outcome being a gamble. I have experienced that, too.
@Remina I suppose I'm mixed between denial, anger and depression. I say I'm okay because it seems that everyone feels I should be and if I try to talk about it with them they get quiet or get this deer in the headlight look. Which feeds the anger I feel at how unfair it is. I'm also angry at myself for not taking the opportunities I was given.

Hey! Hugs! Thank you for sharing with us! It hurts to ignore how you truly feel! You can always be honest with me if it helps.
@Remina Thank you 💜
@mytwistedsoul
You are welcome
@Remina In the spirit of honesty... I struggle with accepting support and talking about things. I've gotten so used to going through and dealing with everything alone.
@mytwistedsoul
It is understandable that you are closed off when it comes to accepting support when you have had to support yourself. It is hard to accept genuine support because you don't completely trust it. I am here, and on your terms, you can reach out to me.
I lost my dad in October of 2023. Was already drowning in depression at the time. Then I lost my dog a month later. June 2024 I lost my other dog. March 2025 my relationship ended and May 2025 due to all of the above I had to leave my job. So now I feel like a complete failure on top of everything else.
@redTiger2146
Oh, I am sorry to hear that. It sounds like a lot of losses, not enough time in between to properly heal. It's understandable that you're stuck between depression and anger. I'd be angry, too.
Yes. I survived this long pouring my heart and soul into my career. But that backfired as my job performance dwindled and I lost stamina to the point where people started to take notice. I felt like I was pushed out of my last 2 jobs. Probably all in my head but that's how I felt. My anxiety became to great for me to work so I quit. Now that im not working my head is flooding with all the grief and loss ive tried to push aside over the last hear and a half. Its unbearable and I feel paralyzed.
@redTiger2146
I think you are more than correct while comparing grief to flooding. From my experience, too: There is no door strong enough or no wall high enough to keep you away from that. But you can learn how to swim through this. And the flood finally starts giving back space to the dry land. You will never forget what happened. But you learn to live with it. And maybe to start appreciating every single moment even more...
I think I’m currently going through a mix of emotions denial, anger, bargaining, and depression. Everything feels overwhelming, and I find myself shifting between these feelings without really knowing how to handle them.
@HopefulSoulsP
Thank you for sharing. It can definitely be overwhelming to experience all these emotions. Have you tried taking fifteen minutes to practice deep breathing?
Yes, when I feel my heart is too heavy and tight to keep me calm😔
@HopefulSoulsP
Hugs. Sounds like it is very painful, maybe even fresh. I am sorry you're going through this pain.
