So I wanted to come on here and just express that it’s 1 year tomorrow since I lost my gran to cancer. I wasn’t there to say goodbye I was out for the day. I never got to say goodbye as it scared me to go see her in the final days. When I found out I kept it together as I was In tescos car park. So when I got home I was being strong. I never did grieve and it’s now it wants to happen and I’m not sure how to. I cried at the funeral but with my adhd as well I could not come to terms that it was her in there and that she would walk back in the door anyday. Of course this didn’t happen and I feel so lost and alone and I’m just needing that person to talk to, to say what I, feeling is valid and just let me chat.

@Kayles96 I am so sorry for your loss.  It sounds like you loved your grandmother, and this has been very hard for you to process.  Please do reach out for a chat, with me, or any other listener, if you feel up for it.

Hello Kayles. I'm sorry for your loss. I know what grief feels like. My dad passed few years ago and I'm still trying to come to terms that he's no more. Thank you for reaching out here. Just know that I am with you. You will surely get over it. Hugs 🤗.

Hi @Kayles96. There’s no proper way to behave around death, just as there’s no schedule for grief either. What you’re feeling now is every bit as valid as what you felt then. I waited for my dad to walk through the door as well. I suspect there’s an impressive psychological term for the mind’s refusal to accept the permanent absence of a loved one, but it’s nicer to think that maybe love just struggles with endings. It sounds like you loved your gran very much, so I hope the past few days have been gentle with you, and I hope that in time you become a little gentler with yourself as well. If you ever find yourself needing to talk, just know you have an entire community here willing to listen, me included,
