Yesterday I found out we had a death in family.

I did not know them well and meet him 3 times but iam having a emotional response to this.

feeling really sad,.

Is it because I heard about this person a lot growing up or what?

@Hopeandjoy12

Perhaps it is because you did not get to know this person and now never will....

sometimes people mourn things like not getting a chance to know someone or missing out on spending time with a person because we may have thought there was time.

Death is often a reminder that life ends and time goes by fast and makes some sad about items we have not done.

I'm sorry to hear about the death in your family. It's natural to experience an emotional response even if you didn't know the person well. Emotions can be triggered by various factors, including the awareness of loss and the understanding that a loved one is going through a difficult time. Additionally, hearing about this person frequently while growing up may have created a subconscious connection, as it introduced their presence into your family's narrative. It's important to acknowledge and allow yourself to process these emotions in your own way. Remember, grief is a complex and individual experience, and there is no right or wrong way to feel.
