❀ If you got to change your name for the day, what would you want to be called and why? ❀

Hello 🥰
I'm good, my highs this week are spending time with my nephew!
My lows are being overtired, over emotional and not standing up for myself!
A common myth about grief for me is that there's a timeline in which you'll feel better, it doesn't work that way!
If I had a new name it would be Harmony, because I could do with some 😁
💜💕
@Amanda84
hey Amanda! thanks for joining our checkin this week!
glad you got to spend time with your nephew that sounds like a good time!
I agree that there is absolutely no timeline for grief, hear alot that you have to get over it, or even that time heals all. grief evolves, and changes, but there is always an empty seat at the table. and a person that you miss deeply.
I hope that you get some rest soon! sometimes when really tired makes emotions go crazy and makes it harder to stand uo for ourselfs, here for you always <3
@CaringEzra
Thank you! 💕💜
Hi ð©·
I am hanging in there. With my loss being recent, it's been coming in waves. A high for today was finally getting out of the house and going out to do some job applications and get myself a nice snack. Lows are when something reminds me of my mom and I get pulled into memories.
People always talk about the 5 stages of grief, but for me I think it's a mix of all of them and a lot more complicated. I could feel all 5 in one day or a couple hours depending on what I'm going through and it's way more than just those stages, and acceptance isn't always constant, sometimes you go right back to denial or anger.
Lilith, my real name is something different and I prefer Lilith much more. It's really pretty and reminds me of feminine power.

hey lilith,
thanks for joining our checkin this week,
I am really proud of you for getting out the house and getting some job interviews done, I knwo that can be really challenging especially in grief, I am really sorry about your mum, there are no right words, can relate to having the reminders and those can be especially hard to deal with, they can come up so unexpectedly and at not convenient times.
I fully agree! I wrote a whole research paper about how not realistic the 5 stages of greif is! It puts greif into easy to understand boxes, but for anyone who has gone through greif not everyone experiences it in these nice stages and boxes! greif is messy, and that model does not capture that very well. it is totally normal to bounce between stages, I mean I could go on forever about this lol, but I completely agree!
sounds like you going through alot, but please know that we are here to listen and support, you do not have to go through this time alone <3
