Grief and Loss Support Check-in
30 June ~ 7 July 2025
Hello, lovely grief and loss support community! Welcome to our weekly check-in.
How are we all doing? I hope that the week is being gentle to you and you find time to take care of yourselves.
We are wrapping up the month of june, Crazy how this month has gone by. I hope you all know how much you are loved and cared about. You are seen and heard, i think that many people place the expectations about grief that it should be done privately and that if time has passed its something you should no longer be affected so deeply by, but even years later, it is woven into everyday experiences and conversations, it does not leave. And its okie if you are still struggling. Give yourself permission
Whatever you are feeling, it's welcomed and valid here. You are worthy and deserving of support. I am always here for you and you are not alone. Please reach out if you need anything at all, You are loved and cared about truly. I wish you all an amazing week ahead. <3

Here are some reflections for the week
❀ How are you doing? Highs? Lows?❀
❀ What is one thing that love about a person thats no longer here? ❀
❀ If you had to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desert in four different countries, where would you go and what would you get?❀

Is that why I binge eat? Grief?
Oo that’s a thought… I binge eat too and now I’m wondering if it’s my grief too

Hey Kiara im so sorry for the delay of responding, but thanks for checking in a couple weeks ago
I definitely think that grief impacts eating in a multitude of ways.
For some eating can be a way to cope and comfort. IN greif there are so many emotions and situations and stuff that you are dealing with. Its a distressing and overweleimg time, Its such a hard thing to cope with. How do you cope with it? and so some turn to food for that grasp to keep hanging on. IN all those messy emotions there is little room for comfort and food can bring that comfort and a bit of relief/ better feelings. Others it can be control kind of thing. Everything is is so out of control after loss. it feels all these bad things are going on and you cant stop them from happening, so food can be a way reestablish that sense of control. Appetite can also change, whether that is eating too much or too little. witch then influences weight and body image and exercise and relationships with food. There are so many ways that food and greif relate to each other and influence each other,
How have you been noticing the two are related? It definitly sounds like there could be a connection there that would be good to explore <3 here for you always <3
