Grief and Loss Support Check-in
April 14 ~ April 21 2025
Hello, lovely grief and loss support community! Welcome to our weekly check-in.
How are we all doing? I hope that the week is being gentle to you and you find time to take care of yourselves. Grief is such a complex and challenging thing to go through. Nobody should go through it alone. I know it can be scary and uncomfortable reaching out for support. But support is here for you. It can come in many forms, from family, friends, sports, hobbies, therapists, Cups, books, movies, online groups, there might be something out there that you have yet to try out. Want to say that your grief is valid, and it's okie to struggle in this time. You are worthy and deserving of support.
Whatever you are feeling, it's welcomed and valid here. I am always here for you and you are not alone. Please reach out if you need anything at all, You are loved and cared about truly. I wish you all an amazing week ahead. <3

Here are some reflections for the week
❀ How are you doing? Highs? Lows?❀
❀What kinds of supports have you had in your grief? ❀
❀ If you could only eat food that's one color for the rest of your life, what color would you pick? ❀

•───────•°•❀•°•───────•
We hope you all have a wonderful week. I look forward to hearing everyone’s responses, and please don't hesitate to reach out for
@CaringEzra 🤔🤔 I'd pick pink food😁😁 I have had so much support from 7 cups and my carers and all the people here at the carehome, I've been very blessed in that way💖 But Easter is this Sunday and I can't help to feel a bit sad 😢 I wish he could be with me to celebrate, I'd buy him so much chocolate and we'd have so much fun🙂💖 but I guess holidays/anniversaries are always the hardest for everyone😥
thanks for checking in 💖 how are you coping Ezra??
@Tinywhisper11 It's okay to feel both, gratitude for the support (which you so deserve<3) and the pain of our loss.
All that we want to do, the love we want to give, all of it is getting collected in a special box. So when we get to meet again, we'll get to spend it all in that moment and that'll be a forever one. No goodbye this time<3
@BlueDarkAurora 💖 I like that💖 it all gets collected in a special box🙂💖 I can't wait to see him again💖
@Tinywhisper11 I know<3

hey lovely lolaaaa, thanks for joining checkin this week,
pink food :o why am I blanking on all pink food in this moment lol! But wait cupcakes! strawberries milkshakes, pink lemonade~!
I am so glad that you have found good support with cups and people that you are surrounded by. Grief is so challenging, its always better to go through it together with someone, and have people that you can reach out to on the hard days. cups can be great support too, we always here for you.
holidays are always really hard, come so many emotions, but all the sadness and such is vaild, I know Joshua feels your love you have for him. you shine with so much love and light and kindness. its never easy to go through each holiday knowing that there are no more to share with them, you have all these plans you wish you got to do, and it well sucks and feels awful, I know that you have lots of ways that you honor him, and include him in your holidays, but its still hard.
you are right- holidays can be the hardest, sending warmth and comfort beams your way this easter weekend
here for you 🫶
@CaringEzra 💖 thankyou💖 sending you love and comfort also, I know Easter must be a difficult time for you to 💖
This week has been extremely hard, especially today.

@affectionateMelon8098
hey melon, gosh friend, im so sorry for your loss, there are no right words to say or bring comfort. I can only imagine the pain and all the emotions you going through. Lossing someone we loves especially someone you have spent so long together with, well its the hardest thing, but please know that you are not alone. you have us to lean on and get support (when you are ready and feel comfy of course). how are you coping with it all? hope you taking care of yourself, here for you 🫶
Some days are harder than others. Now that the dust has settled it’s even more evident the gaping hole he left in our lives. My daughter and I are now alone, an hour and a half from family, and the loneliness is just awful.
@affectionateMelon8098 Some days are definitely harder<3 The missing is the hardest part of it all. I'm so sorry for your loss<3 I hope some arrangements can be made so that you get to visit your family often, it feels a bit better to be with people we love. I'm glad you and your daughter have each other<3
We're all here with you as well<3
@BlueDarkAurora Thank you. My "family" (blood relations) are toxic. It's why I moved away from them 14 years ago. So toxic - my mother sent us tuna and other food items via Amazon - my daughter is allergic to fish. It's been a rough first month without him.
@affectionateMelon8098 oh god that's awful, I'm sorry<3 Having to deal with that kind of toxicity adds so much more hurt to our already struggling heart.
I'm so sorry I said that<3
@BlueDarkAurora no worries - my family has been this way towards me my whole life.
@affectionateMelon8098 You deserved a better family<3 I can understand it isn't easy at all to have to deal with grief on your own but we take it one day at a time. I'm not sure when it gets better, I still struggle with mine. But just as some days are difficult, there are days when it all feels a bit manageable. And the hope to see those days can sometimes be a ray of light in the darkness.
@affectionateMelon8098 we are like one big family here at cups 💗 I hope you find comfort and support here with us 💖 hugs you tightly 💗
My mom died and she was my best friend as well as my mother. I don’t really have any family to speak of-she was my support. It’s so incredibly lonely being without her. Maybe I’m being dramatic but it feels like no one cares about what I’m going through, No one texts or calls and I spend my days alone. I come here because I need someone to talk to. I’m just heartbroken though. I just want someone to tell me that I count.

@ianesmith
Hey smith, thanks so much for coming here and checking in. I am so sorry to hear about your mom, There are no words that really say the right thing, but I can only imagine the pain and all the emotions that you have been going through. Its one the hardest things in the world. After we loose someone we love it can feel so lonely and isolating, especailly when it sounds like she was your main support system. your mom sounds like a lovely person. Its crazy how fast the support from others goes. grief last forever but the checkin texts, meals whatever it goes aways with less weeks, but what you are going through matters. I post checkins here every week, maybe you want to start stopping by to check in, you dont have to go through this alone. I know I might just have met you, but I do care about what you are going through, and would love to hear more and listen. you count, you matter, what you feeling is vaild. we got you friend, we are here with you through this journey. hugs if okie,
Thank you so much. It means a lot. I’ve been using the app as a means of support. I’m going through bad money troubles and I can’t see the therapist that I saw weekly. So this has become a place where I have people to talk to and it helps me feel less alone. Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely, thoughtful comment.
