Grief and Loss Support Check-in

April 28~ May 5 2025

Hello, lovely grief and loss support community! Welcome to our weekly check-in.

How are we all doing? I hope that the week is being gentle to you and you find time to take care of yourselves. Can you believe we are about to check off another month? The weather is just starting to get a bit better (finally!)

Something that I've noticed is how quickly support for someone grieving goes away. After the initial loss, people might reach out, checkin, help with meals, but then after a week or two people go on with their busy lives. But the grief stays and so do the hard times. It's always nice to reach out on holidays, anniversaries, birthdays and such, but it can also be nice to receive the random mid week check ins. So here it is your random midweek check in.

 Whatever you are feeling, it's welcomed and valid here. You are worthy and deserving of support. I am always here for you and you are not alone. Please reach out if you need anything at all, You are loved and cared about truly. I wish you all an amazing week ahead. <3

I would love to welcome you to participate in some reflection questions!  Our weekly check-ins are an opportunity to get to know each other a little bit better and offer continual support. Feel free to answer as many or as few as you would like. Also, feel free to share anything on your mind or just say hi! Whatever you post; we eagerly await your response!

Here are some reflections for the week

❀ How are you doing?  What's been on your mind lately?

❀ Whats one of your favorite memories of your person? ❀

❀ If time froze for everyone except you for 24 hours, what’s the first ridiculous thing you’d do?? ❀

@CaringEzra

I never really grieved my dad. He and I were mostly estranged. I don't (and didn't) know how I felt/feel.  Is that weird?

@jesusredeemedme2425

hey Kiara, I am so so sorry for not replying to you sooner, thanks for joining our checkin a couple weeks ago <3

I think that its totally normal to not grieve your dad, It sounds like you probably had a complicated relationship with him. Everyone grieves different, and I think that it can depend on the kind of relationship you held when they were here. Even if you not feeling anything now, you might later on, or you just might grieve differently, like grieving a version of a dad you wish you had. It can be hard to sit with those feelings especially when they are not straight forward and be able to put words to them. you are not grieving wrong even if it feels like its different from what others going through. you are not alone through this. Your feelings or lack of feelings is vaild. here for you <3

@CaringEzra I would set up pranks like make a guy out his hand in the back pocket of the man confront of him, or a stick in front of a bike going downhill😁 the people's shoe laces together and loosen the lid on someone's hot coffee😈

I'm actually really struggling today, and most of yesterday🥲 but I'm trying to keep my brave face on💖How are you doing today Ezra? I'm always here for you if you ever need to talk 💗

@Rushyneedsguidance

hey rush, thanks for joining our checkin this week,

I am so sorry about your sister, there are no right words, can only imagine how challenging things have been for you and to watch you sister go through what she did. the after math of it is so messy and brings so many feelings and emotions. the memories can be unbearable to live with.

I lost my dad to sui too, and well mental health can be brutal, there really needs to be more accessible support for those struggling, the stigma around it is still so immense. everyone deservers to be listened to and supported in when they struggling. nobody should have to go through their battles alone. I'm really glad that you are here tho. I can only imagine what you are going through, but please reach, we are all here to support you and hear you out. we care about you very much.
