Grief and Loss Support Check-in

April 7 ~ April 14 2025

Hello, lovely grief and loss support community! Welcome to our weekly check-in.

How are we all doing? I hope that the week is being gentle to you and you find time to take care of yourselves. Secondary losses are a huge part of that journey, and often something people don’t talk about enough. Grief can show up in ways we don’t expect, right? After losing someone, it’s not just the absence of that person we feel. Sometimes it's the loss of the future we imagined with them, the rituals and moments we expected to share, your home, your job, even the loss of a version of ourselves that feels different now. Those losses can be just as heavy.  Whatever you are feeling, it's welcomed and valid here. I am always here for you and you are not alone. Please reach out if you need anything at all, You are loved and cared about truly. I wish you all an amazing week ahead. <3

Here are some reflections for the week

❀ How are you doing? Highs? Lows?❀

❀What are some secondary losses that you have experienced during your grief? ❀

❀ Would you rather have a pet dragon or a pet unicorn? What would you name them?❀

@CaringEzra Hey Ezra :) How are you?

The loss of a future... definitely. My father and I used to meet up for breakfast on my birthday. Just the 2 of us. I have a birthday coming up this week. I don't think I noticed it as much last year maybe because it had only been a few months. It's hard to remember what his voice sounded like.

Loss of self. I'm not the same since he passed. It's as though a part of me died along with him and just a shell remains. I'm moodier and more inclined to keep to myself. Alot of things just seem pointless. What's the point in doing this or that if at the end of the day it's all just gone anyway? Maybe it's made me more aware of my own mortality.

Definitely a dragon. Gallinthus is his name. He fights against the powers of Chaos
