grieving is hard and for some people we lose it may hit us harder or even longer then others .... it is hard to give advice or even help those grieving because we all do it differently.
There are plenty of thoughts on this and with LONG term like you have i would suggest trying a process of writing down your good stories and what you miss now remember i am not sure at what age you lost him but try to not tell yourself things that most likely are a stretch ....
for example i lost my dad very early in life .... it was hard do i think things would have been different..... yes but that is no way a guarantee they would be better....... my sibling has made every bad choice imaginable and blames it all on our dad being gone ....... they claim it is grief ...... i cannot say but i feel at a point what would DAD think of their poor choices.
your granddad might like the fact when you see something he liked you think of him but would he want you to wall off trying not to think of him.
@quietLake4305 So sorry for your loss.
I really am.
Sending healing beams, your way.
Hi @quietLake4305 We have quite the same experience, I love my grandparent so much too, and yes it was heart broken situation when I lost them. I understand that it would be difficult to cope with it, and I also understand that we can't really forget the sweet sweet memories that we have with them, all we can do is to "Accept" that now they're in better place than us..
There's a therapy called "Acceptance Commitment Therapy" but the only people who can help you with this are therapist and psychologist, so yea you might consider visiting them.
You're also very welcome to chat me and share how significant our grandparents to us :)
@quietLake4305 I'm here for you
