Grieving the loss of a student
Last year around father's day.. I was working in a daycare and was a head teacher.. got a call from the director saying my student had been in a drowning accident and was in the ICU, on father's day they passed and I havent been able to properly grieve or feel my emotions due to my family thinking it's ridiculous.. could really use a friend to talk to ❤️🩹

I am sorry for your loss and yes it is not ridiculous to need to grieve a death even if it was a acquaintance.
Some people think unless it was family etc should not hit a person but sometimes it hits a person for various reasons. I lost some co-workers over the years and while not really super close to them personally .........one loss just hit harder perhaps because it was a young person in a accident.
My family doesn't seem to understand why I'm so upset.. the student wasn't even 3 years old yet.. it was devastating and no one seems to understand how hard it is too process.. 😭 went to the one year anniversary vigil and all of my ex co workers made me feel like I shouldn't have come... It seems like I'm. The only one who cares

If ex co-workers made you feel that way they were there for some sort of i showed up while you were for true grief......just because you no longer work there does not mean you did not care.
again some people will never get it until it happens to them....... that a situation in life hits them hard and to others around them thinks it is no big thing.
