How do I help someone in grief?

Hello everyone, I'm asking this question because sadly this morning my boyfriend wrote to me that his uncle died, I'm about to meet him on Monday and I don't know what to do to help him through this, mostly because I have a different relationship with grief and death than him, what can I do to help him through his feelings?

All that people who are going through grief need, is for you to turn up for them.

Listen.

Let them talk about their Uncle.

Be with them for whatever they need.

Support, hugs and just being honest when you don't know what to need.

Holding a quiet space for them.

I'm sorry for his loss!

He will be happy to see you on Monday 💕💜

Thank you so much for the answer, I'm grateful for people like you here that help with these kind of things, I'm not great at supporting people despite listening and this is a new situation for me, I'm pretty lost, all I could think of was bringing him his favorite foods because that's what usually cheers me up but he obviously isn't like me so I'm in the dark on how to help in these situations.

Thank you so much 💜
