I'm lost
I'm new to this app and just trying to see if this will help me move on. At the start of the year I lost my boyfriend to suicide. We were long distance and didn't get to see him much in person but he was the love of my life. I have no idea how to move on. It makes me sick thinking about finding someone else. My family never knew him and my friends that did also live far away so I have been alone in my grief. All I have left of him are a couple of photos and our old texts. I don't know what to do.
@MysterRick
I am so, so sorry about your loss... I can't imagine the pain and grief. I want you to know... we're here for you, and we're here to listen, and sit with you in your grief. We love you! *hugs* <3
Thank you. I really appreciate it and it means a lot. It has been hard doing this alone. Since I got this app I have received more kindness and reassurance I have ever gotten. So once again thank you* hugs *
You’re not alone anymore. <3
*BIGGGG hugs* <3
@MysterRick
I’m glad you are feeling supported here.
With the utmost respect for your loss and your feelings, I only say this because you mention moving on … What areas of your life might need some focus and attention? Family or friends that you haven’t spoken to in a while? Activities or hobbies? Is there a ritual that you have heard about, practiced, or would like to create on your own … these can help you to move on.
While everyone’s time of grieving is different, less than a year isn’t that long. And in my opinion, I think less than a year is too soon to think about finding someone, so my advice would be to put that on hold for at least a year or more.
It is very courageous to ask for help … please check in again.
@FaithfulScout
Honestly, I have a lot of things in my life I have been neglecting. Some of my close family I have been distant with, I stopped meditating and yoga, I haven't drawn anything in a while so yeah there's a lot I need to work on.
And I probably worded it wrong when I say "move on". I mostly mean not crying myself to sleep every night or breaking down when I look at his photos. When it comes to finding someone else I'll cross that bridge when I get there in the meantime I'm not interested in finding someone new.
I appreciate you taking the time and checking on me and offering me some advice so thank you very much 😊💜
@MysterRick
You’re welcome.
I see what you mean … well, sharing about grief (in general) with trusted people has always helped me. I can only describe it as moving energy through my body (where the conduit is the other person’s compassion).
And you’re welcome to have support in those other areas of life which are important to you 🙂

I'm so sorry for your loss. No words properly describe the feeling of losing someone in this way. I feel exactly how you describe. I just hope we can find the strength to keep moving forward.
Just know you're not alone. I'm sorry for your loss. I wish you the best 💜💜
@mysrerRick
Thank you and yes I keep hoping the same thing to have the strength to keep moving forward. I don’t want to leave the house or even my bed for that matter . It’s a horrible feeling I’ve never gone through something so terrible in my life . It feels like it’s been forever and it’s only been almost 4 months . It’s awful . I don’t know why this had to happen to us or anyone . Hugs 🤗 💜💜
