I don’t know if I’m handling my grief correctly I know people die grief differently but I’ve lost two of my closest relatives in less than a year to each other I’m 14 and I’ve been vaping and drinking alcohol for context it was my mother and my older brother they both had addictions the couldn’t overcome I don’t wanna en up lurk they did but I feel so empty I cry alone at night in a bathtub eating ice cream sometimes my dada and older sister are all I have left and my dad works 14 hour shifts most of the time so I rarely see him and my sister lives states away she’s over 1000 miles away literally I feel so alone.

@Berry5

🥺

There's no right way to grieve.

That's alot for you to handle so young.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

That's alot to contend with.

And the trauma of addictions.

You are too young to vape or drink, it will only make you feel worse in the long run.

Sending you my best wishes 💚

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am not sure there is a right or wrong way to grieve, but do be careful with the substances you're using to avoid rhe pain. Sometimes we have to immerse ourselves in the pain fully, hold the pain near until slowly, eventually the knot of pain begins to soften and becomes easier to hold. Then, when it becomes easier to hold, sometimes we can tuck it away in a pocket for safekeeping. Sending you positive energy for strength and healing. Blessed be. 🌹

@Berry5

Hey, Berry.

I am sorry to hear about your losses that you have recently had to face. It is understandable that you feel alone with your father working almost all day and your sister being not physically close. I want to say there is no right or wrong way to grieve. People grieve and sometimes their coping methods are not the best but it happens. It sounds like you are aware that you have maladaptive coping methods and you are wanting to shift. To be young and to know this loss is not easy and I am sorry you have to go through this. You do not have to do it alone. We on 7cups are here for you to start off with. Since you are 14, I assume you attend a school, do you have any friends that you can lean on or is there a trusted adult at the school you can confide in? Maybe a school counselor?
