Introduction from new forum supporter.
Hello everyone, I'm ThoughtLight. I'm a new forum supporter and hope to be an asset to the community. I have a very deep understanding and rough personal experience with grief and loss so I have a very strong understanding and can relate. In brief I lost my mom in April and my aunt in March. I've learned from a whole new inside perspective that grief is a very unique path for every individual. We all share common elements, but no two experiences are just alike. People need to stop saying "I know exactly what you're going through." They may have a very similar situation on the outside, but not the inside. And you are very valid in however you feel, and I know sometimes the feelings are confusing. Just know it's normal as odd as that may seem when you're feeling it. If you're in bereavement don't feel like the mourning and grief are unhealthy. It would be worrying if you didn't go through it. And the length is different for everyone. Please feel free to open up and not worry about being judged. Some things may feel strange, and you don't want others to know out of fear of judgement but in reality, we are mostly all in the exact same boat. Let's work through this difficult journey together. I know I tend to learn something different every day on my journey. One of my first thoughts though was Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross got it all wrong.
