Hello I am so saddened to say I lost my father to suicide on March 25,2025 and I found him . I just don’t understand why he would do this . He moved In with me last year and a year later did this . I am devastated I have no motivation to do anything I am always in bed , I thought it would start to get easier but it’s not it seems like it’s getting harder. Father’s Day was very hard and it seems like it’s been worse since then . Will I ever feel normal again? I just want to be normal and happy again and I want to have the energy to go out of my house and not be depressed . I never get dressed to go out . This is just so terrible

I'm so incredibly sorry you're going through this. Losing someone you love to suicide is a kind of pain that’s hard to put into words and even harder to carry. I can’t imagine how heartbreaking it must’ve been to find your father like that, and then to have to navigate all the questions and emotions that follow. You gave him a home, a space, your love and it's okay to feel confused, hurt, angry, numb… all of it. There’s no right way to grieve something so heavy.

I also want to share that I recently lost a school friend to suicide it happened on June 18th, and I just attended his funeral. It shook me. Even now, it doesn’t fully feel real. The weight of it lingers, and it makes the world feel both fragile and overwhelming at the same time. So when you say it feels like things are getting harder, especially after Father’s Day, I truly hear you. Grief can be like that it doesn’t follow a straight line. It comes in waves, and some days hit harder than others.

Please be gentle with yourself. You’re not “supposed” to be okay right now. Just surviving, just getting through the day that’s already a big thing. You're not alone in this, and I believe with time, support, and a lot of compassion toward yourself, you will feel moments of peace and light again, even if it doesn’t feel possible right now.

If you are comfortable sharing, what would it look like to take one small step toward caring for yourself today not to fix anything, just to breathe a little easier? Remember you deserve support as you navigate this. We are all here to listen. 💙

Thank you so much i appreciate your kind words, i am also so sorry that you lost your friend to suicide it’s so hard . I really don’t think I ever grieved before now and have lost people . And my dad did it In my bedroom that I let him stay in while he was here and idk how I am going to put all my stuff back in there and just live . I just want to feel better I wish this never happened I feel like I’ll never be myself again. I hope that’s not true . I’m sure it’s just as hard for your loss as well and I am sorry you’re going through this as well
