Lost my other half
About 6 years ago I met one of the most impactful people that I’d ever had the pleasure of meeting. I guess you could say he was the full package and I’d never had such a connection to someone before. Long story short, some things happened and a couple months ago we went no contact for good. We’ve tried to leave each other alone over the years but it’s never any good, we always ended up right back to square one. I think it’s especially hard for me because I’ve never actually accepted that it was done. I haven’t been able to move on because it almost feels wrong. I’ve built this image of him in my head that I’m so scared of tainting. I was so fond of him for so long and many things came to light that started to ruin this for me because I would hate to hate him. No one understood me the way he did and I’m so stuck because I know it’s not reciprocated. I thought our bond was one of a kind and exclusive to one another but it turned out to be a lie and I’ve been in denial. There hasn’t been a single day that I haven’t been sad about this and it’s consuming me so much. I cannot even do the simplest of tasks anymore , I’m not sure what’s different about this time around but it almost feels like acceptance. I don’t want to accept anything because then it would make it real. I’m grieving someone alive and well and the fact I can’t have him around physically aches me. I’m scared that if I accept it’s over and done with, I’ll hate the world . I’m so scared I’ll become bitter and angry , it feels like the day he left me alone, a piece of me died . I can’t function anymore and it doesn’t help that I look for him in everything that I do. I’ve never had a problem moving forwards with my life before, I truly thought he was my soulmate I’m so drawn to him even when I don’t try. I feel suffocated by this feeling of loss , I’ve never felt like this before

Hello, I'm sorry you are going through this right now! I can't say I know how this feels but for me some of my separations from certain people through out the years felt like I actually went through a time of mourning their loss as if I knew the separation was permanent. I'm wishing I had some good advice but I can say you are not alone, the people on this site want to help you and then we can give back when we feel better and stronger. I wish you the best!!
Blessings, Day
Hi I don't know if you're doing better now, it's been 21 days since you posted but I went through something similar. A guy pursued me for a long time and we had such sparks and then he mostly ghosted me right after I met his family. I could feel the pain of his rejection like something tearing apart my chest. I don't know how I made it home that night. I wanted to do nothing but cry for days. I had nightmares about him being with someone else. It got better very slowly and I kept busy and tried to make friends, which helped. I hope you have the same. I can't make it better but I wanted to make sure you knew your were seen.
