My friend committed unsuccessful suicide

One of my best friends is currently in the hospital because she tried to commit suicide. I feel horrible because she told me she was going to, but I couldn’t tell if she was joking or not so I didn’t tell anybody.

Do not blame yourself since you truly did not know if she was serious. You are not the first this happened to and will not be the last that something like this happens .
I hope your friend is getting better and did not do long term damage to herself in her attempt. You both can grow from here ... learn if reaching out do not expect someone to see your pain if you do not show it... if someone reaches out to listen completely so you do not miss a sign.
