Thoughts on Loss
Loss is something you experience when you have had someone something and now it's gone - the kind of void you feel in yourself is immensely painful. Loss is ugly, it could haunt you at nights and when you're alone. Most of the days your anger keeps broiling over someone you lost however on other days you feel an irresistible urge to get back to them to fix what's broken. It becomes messy for you. You revists the experiences you had with them until you reaches a dead end, the end when things got worse and universe decides to get that one person away from you.
But child the thing is, this irresistible urge will linger around for sometime and then your conscience will be back. You'll accept it and you will move on. You'll Heal, you'll Learn!
@EmpathticAni you've captured something very resonant about bereavement and loss here Ani; how anger and grief appear so often together and can weave in and out of each other. Those conflicting feelings don't disappear after a death, we just get better at reconciling them. Thank you for this.
@EmpathticAni nice to meet you and welcome 💜🥰 Grief is hardest when you wake up in the morning, not remembering your loved one has died, and it hurts all over again. Grief can hit you at the most unexpected of times, you really just have to work your way through it and allow yourself the time and the space to process your feelings 💜
@EmpathticAni grieving is one of the most difficult things to go through😥 it will never leave but it does get a bit easier with time💖 thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic💖
@Tinywhisper11 fully agree on this Tiny; I always think of it like an acute pain that subsides to chronic - it's never really going to leave, we learn to live with it.
Loss is a quiet teacher.
It takes something from us, sometimes suddenly, sometimes slowly, and leaves behind an empty space that aches. But within that emptiness, we also find the depth of our love, the strength of our memories, and the resilience we didn’t know we had.
Healing doesn’t mean forgetting — it means learning to carry the absence with grace. Some days it’s heavy. Some days it’s light. But every day, we keep moving, gently honoring what was, while making space for what still can be.

Beautifully expressed.

“The paths have changed,
But not the companion in my heart.”
A modern echo of longing.
