Trying but struggling

I lost my 23 month old daughter and her mother 2 years ago, August. I’ve never sat down for more than 1 session of therapy and I pushed it down. Life has been lifing and it’s started to bring everything back up. I miss them so much and I hate myself sometimes because the last thing my daughters mother said to me was thank you (she asked for something earlier) and I saw the message but we argued so I was petty and responded a little later saying yup instead of just saying no problem I love you. The last thing was me being childish and petty and I wish I could take it back. I know she knows I was being childish not responding but leaving the message on seen but still. I just don’t know how to do this anymore

@ShaunW1927

I am very sorry for your loss.

Beating ourselves up about what we could have or should have done is only self-punishment that will never be enough.  We all have had those moments of being petty or not doing what we could have. pushing it down is not helping maybe chose to use your pain to help others... let others know saying "I love you" should be done just in case you do not have a second chance.  writing or helping other not make your same error does not bring you loved ones back, but it chips away at the boulder we have ourselves carry as punishment for not being able to have a re-do on our situation.

Sorry for your loss Shaun. The pain must be intense right now. It's normal to feel like this. Everyone deals with grief differently.

As for the wishing things could have been said differently that's normal to.

When I was 24 years old my girlfriend committed suicide.  Her mother turned from loving me to pure hate. I was a mess  blaming myself for not seeing this coming.

I got over it by talking to others who have been thru it. It's part of life the bad part.

I lost my wife, yes met a new girl, got married had 4 kids.

Now for the life part, my wife had this painful disease called pancreas. My 3 kids also had it.

Lots of hospitals visit and in the end wife died and my daughter did to. It's life and the bad part.

Talk to your friends and find a group you will feel better.
